The City of Poreč financed the project entitled “Inventory and Tracking Invasive Types in Porec and the Environment” in the period 2015-2016. The aim of the project was to create an interactive map of two invasive species; Sea grapes (Caulerpa cylindracea) and Tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima) and encourage the unification of projects with the same theme in the Poreč area. Under the project the wider area of the town of Poreč was examined and basic information on the presence of these species was collected, digital interactive map of Poreština area was created with marked locations where these two invasive species were found, education of children and adults was carried out to enable their contribution to fight against foreign invasive species, and the wider public was sensitized to this issue.
